I was born and raised in Rome, Italy.
While studying architecture in the '90s, I became involved with a student movement and participated in many cultural happenings and artistic events that included shooting videos. Through this experience I found my path to work in a field I was immediately passionate about: cinematography.
I then began working with feature films as a camera assistant while also exploring art films. In 2001 I moved on to being a camera operator and in 2002 director Matteo Garrone asked me to work as director of

photography and finish his movie "L'imbalsamatore" (The Embalmer), which had been started by another d.o.p.
Since then I have worked as a cinematographer for feature films, documentaries, short films and music videos.
For both work and passion I have travelled to: Albania, Argentina, Bolivia, Cambodia, Cook Islands, Cuba, Fiji, French Polynesia, India, Jordan, PerĂ¹, Philippines, Serbia, Tanzania, Tonga, Turkey, U.S.A., Vietnam and most Western European countries.
I now live between Rome and Berlin. | |
